Medicinal Chemistry Intern
The Medicinal Chemistry Unit is a part of the Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Design Technologies (MCDDT) Department within the Global Research and Preclinical Development Area of Chiesi Farmaceutici.
Our mission is to provide medicinal chemistry expertise across all phases of drug discovery, from target identification to clinical candidate selection, thereby supporting and expanding company’s pipeline.
We are seeking a highly motivated and engaged team worker with a passion for hands-on science and desire for continuous learning to join our team.
Activities:

Peptide/organic chemistry synthesis: preparation and scale-up of novel peptide active molecules

Characterization of synthesized molecules and interpretation of analytical data

Documentation and evaluation of experiments
Education:
-
Master’s degree in chemistry/medicinal chemistry or a Ph.D. in organic/medicinal chemistry

Master thesis in a (peptide) synthesis lab is a plus (at least 6 months)
Language:
-
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Technical Skills:
-
Knowledge in the field of organic synthetic chemistry/solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and/or solid phase oligonucleotides synthesis (SPOS)

Basic expertise in NMR and LC-MS techniques

Basic knowledge of scientific databases (SciFinder, Reaxys)

Contract:
6 months internship
