Senior or Principal Scientist for high throughput screening

Denmark - Måløv

Department of Screening and Bioassay Technology has an opening for a talented and motivated Senior or Principal Scientist with a strong background within high throughput screening methodologies.

Screening and Bioassay Technology is part of Global Research at Novo Nordisk and is located in Måløv in the Copenhagen area of Denmark. Our responsibility includes efficient delivery of high quality in vitro assay data to support identification of biologics drug candidates with desired functionality and reduced immunogenicity risk. Drug candidates include therapeutic antibodies and various formats of these that are used across several therapy areas at Novo Nordisk. Furthermore, we develop cell-based drug potency/bio-assays and secure the transfer of these from Global Research to Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC).
The department consists of 7 scientists and 7 technicians highly skilled in design and execution of a variety of medium and high throughput screening assays with relevant biological read-out.

The research and discovery work within Global Research is organised in multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams and you will contribute to several projects as an expert within the early phases of therapeutic candidate identification. You will be responsible for development and implementation of screening assays for high throughput capacity through the use of liquid handlers, robotics and relevant screening platforms. You will have a strong impact on implementation of new technologies and instrumentation and support the data capture, analysis and management systems required. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with project teams, department scientists and laboratory technicians.
The working environment in Global Research is dynamic and innovative and involves interactions with colleagues from research sites in USA and China, with an excellent opportunity to establish a strong scientific network.

You hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, biology or a related discipline with additional postdoctoral training. You have solid theoretical and practical skills in assay design and technologies consisting of biochemical and cell-based assays and conversion of these into high throughput format. Expertise in microfluidic droplet screening platforms as well as experience with performance of assays using automated systems, such as Hamilton microlab STAR liquid handling workstations is an absolute advantage. Likewise, competencies in data analysis of high throughput screening results and data management are highly relevant for the position. Know-how and practical skills in antibody screening campaigns will be considered a plus and industry experience within biologics drug discovery is favorable but not a requirement.
You are an innovative and result-oriented scientist with the ability to rapidly gain an overview of project goals who knows how to design and evaluate appropriate assays to support project teams in the most optimal way. As a person you are proactive and engaged with a positive attitude to new ideas and people. You enjoy working in teams to share knowledge, have an ability to build networks and possess good communication skills.
